we are reminded of Mary’s answer to the angel who asked if she would give birth
to Jesus. Even though she must have had many questions and fears, she told the angel "Here am I, the servant of the Lord. let it be done to me according to your words". Mary's "yes" must have been very pleasing to God, as it showed great trust and faith. God doesn't just want Mary's "yes" - he wants our "yes" to him as well. He wants us to trust him and have faith in him, even when we don't completely understand what he is calling us to do.
God of Love,
Help us to say yes to your
will, just like Mary, the mother of Jesus did.
Give us the strength to
follow your commandments
as we ready our hearts for
Bless our family, extended
family, and family of faith
the Christmas season.
Through Christ our Lord.
