MORNING PRAYER

During this time of Easter joy, it is important to reflect on the leaders in the Church, those who dedicated to consecrated life. Some Christian women and men respond to God’s call to become followers of Jesus through profession of vows and a life dedicated to prayer and service. They live out the consecrated life in different ways. Religious sisters, nuns, brothers, religious priests, and monks consecrate their lives through their profession of the evangelical vows and live as part of a community.

God our Father,

We thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son’s Kingdom

as sisters, brothers, monks, deacons, priests, and bishops.

Renew their knowledge and love of You,

and send Your Holy Spirit

to help them respond generously and courageously to Your will.  

Renew in them, and in us, our Easter joy.

We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ,

who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit,

one God, for ever and ever.

ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE: Grade 9-11 Information Session

Have you ever wanted to travel and study abroad? You don't have to wait for University! Long-term and short-term exchange programs are available right here in Prince Albert through the Prince Albert Rotary Club. If you have strong leadership qualities and are interested in languages and embracing different cultures you could study abroad as early as Grade 10! The presentation will be on Wednesday April 22nd at lunch in the library classroom. This presentation is for current Grade 9-11 students. AFFINITY FOR COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP: Grade 12

This scholarship is for any person entering their first year of university, college, vocational or trade school within the next year. Each year, we award 30 scholarships of $1,000 to individuals beginning their post-secondary education. This scholarship recognizes and supports students who've demonstrated a strong commitment to uplifting their community. This scholarship will open on Monday, January 5, 2026 and the deadline to apply is Wednesday, April 15, 2026. To be eligible to apply, students (or their parent or guardian) must be a member of Affinity Credit Union. More information about each of these scholarship opportunities, along with application forms, can be found online at affinitycu.ca.  

SLC HOODIE ARRIVAL!!
The SLC is happy to announce that the hoodie order is now in!! Students must pay for their sweaters before they can pick them up from Mrs. Gareau's class (Room 210). The $50 fee can be paid with cash/debit at the main office, OR online through your School Cash account. Thank you for supporting this SLC-led initiative, and thanks again to Hannah Aikoye for her winning design! We can't wait to see you rep this new St. Mary gear!!

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL

École St Mary High School invites the community to Upstage Productions' two-act play, Legally Blonde The Musical. Harvard's beloved blonde takes the stage by pink storm in this fun, upbeat story of self-discovery. A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances - this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal! Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

EDSBY MESSAGE: April Overdue/Lost
In a few days, all Grade 9 – Grade 12 students with Overdue/Lost library books, textbooks, novel sets and calculators will be receiving an Edsby message titled “April Overdue/Lost”. It will have a screen capture of their library account listing these items. All Grade 10 - Grade 12 students with Overdue/Lost textbooks, novel sets and calculators will have these items added to their SchoolCash account. These items can be paid online (SchoolCash access on the division website at www.pacsd.ca) or in the main office. 

SPRING FORMAL DANCE: Thursday, April 30th

Hey Marauders, The time has come to begin thinking about our dance coming up at the end of month! On Thursday, April 30th our SLC is hosting a Spring Formal from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Based on our school-wide vote last month, the formal theme option won with 49% of the total votes! In addition, almost 200 students responded to say they would like to attend a spring dance. We cannot wait to see everyone out for this special night! The SLC has been planning the elements around this undertaking. From the members who will run the music, the canteen, and decorating, they are working really hard to make this a special night for our school. Dance tickets will be sold Monday, April 13th to Friday, April 17th over the lunch hour in front of the SLC office. You will need to pre-pay for the $5 ticket, and you must be enrolled at St. Mary to attend. If you need to be put on a late list, ensure you specify that when you buy a ticket. You will also need to communicate when you will be arriving to the dance. We can't wait to see our student body come out for a great night of dancing, celebration, and to just be together as Marauders. THE SASKATCHEWAN INSTITUTE OF AGROLOGISTS

The Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists understands that youth are the future of the profession of agrology. To support youth in attaining a career in agrology-related sectors, including agriculture, bioresources, food, or the environment, the Institute’s six branches each award a scholarship of $1,500 to candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in agrology and become agrologists. Eligibility: Presently a Saskatchewan Grade 12 high school student or recent graduate, have plans to enroll as a first-year full-time student in the fall in a post-secondary program related to agriculture, bioresources, food, or environment, which meets the eligibility requirements to apply for registration with the Institute after graduation. How to Apply: Application Requirements: Résumé demonstrating work and volunteer activities, Title page including full name and contact information – mailing address, phone number, and email address, high school information – name, location, phone number, principal’s name, and email address, Post-secondary information – the name of institution and program, Written essay (maximum of 500 words) titled “Why I’ve Chosen to Pursue a Career in Agrology”, which includes a 250-word answer to each of the following questions: What challenges or opportunities will the agriculture, bioresources, food or the environment industries be facing in 5 years? 10 years? PRINCE ALBERT PUBLIC LIBRARY: April Programs Guide

PAATA SCHOLARSHIP: 4 x $1000

The Prince Albert and Area Teachers’ Association (PAATA) awards four $1,000 scholarships to graduating Grade 12 students who are pursuing post-secondary studies related to the field of education. This includes careers focused on teaching, educational support, child and youth development, community education, and service-based professions. If these categories are not filled, the committee will entertain additional fields. Applicants must be graduating in the year of application, accepted to a recognized post-secondary institution, and submit a complete application package by April 30. Scholarships are available to students from PACSD, Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division (Urban and Rural), and children of active or recent PAATA members. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership and community involvement, the personal essay, references, and overall completeness of the application. SASKTEL INDIGENOUS YOUTH AWARDS: Gr 9-12

The SaskTel Indigenous Youth Awards of Excellence recognize youth achievement in the following categories: Outstanding Academic Achievement, Leadership, Culture & Community, Sports/Recreation, and Arts & Science. Applicants can apply in multiple categories but can only win once. Eligibility criteria includes: must be of First Nations, Metis, or Inuit ancestry; must be between 14 and 18 years of age as of June 28, 2025; must be a resident of Saskatchewan and a registered student in Saskatchewan; must be able to demonstrate outstanding commitment and/or ability in one of the award categories (2 reference letters are required with current contact information for each reference as they will be contacted). The deadline for applications is Thursday, April 30, 2026. The awards event will be held Friday, June 5, 2026. LAKE COUNTRY CO-OP STUDENT BURSARY: 3 x $2,500

Lake Country Co-op Student Bursary Program is offering three $2,500 bursaries to secondary schools within the trading area. To be eligible, the student must be: a grade 12 student graduating in 2026 and enrolled in full-time studies at a University, Post-Secondary Institution, or Technical Institute for the fall 2026 term; a permanent resident in the Lake Country Co-op trading area; a Lake Country Co-op Member (parent/guardian membership will be accepted); and willing to allow Lake Country Co-op to use submissions for advertising purposes. Applicants will be evaluated based on involvement in school and community activities, as well as the successful completion of grade 12, and acceptance in post-secondary studies. To be considered, the application requires the completion of the questions, as well as a written essay and a video submission. Written Essay Question: What can Lake Country Co-op do to better serve the youth of our communities and encourage their involvement in the local Co-op? DRIVER EDUCATION 2025 - 2026

Students who are interested in the 2025 - 2026 driver education program are to register online through Microsoft Forms: Driver Education Registration 2025 - 2026 (This link is also posted in Edsby.) Mr. Bourdon will then place students into groups on Edsby. A reminder that spots fill up quickly, so it is important for students to select their two top options to best accommodate each student. 

The start dates for session are as follows:

Session 2: Oct. 7 - Oct. 28 (3:30 pm - 5:30 pm) 

Session 3: Oct. 20 - Dec. 2 (12:15 pm - 1:10 pm)

HOMEWORK CLUB
Need a quiet spot to focus on your homework, use a computer, study for an exam, or simply to enjoy your lunch in peace? Then come join us in Room B20 (Mr. Kirilenko's classroom)! Homework Club runs Monday to Friday from 12:14 pm to 1:14pm. All students are welcome to attend!

ART CLUB 

Art Club is every Thursday from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm in the Art Room. Drop-ins are always welcome! 

GAMES CLUB 

Games Club is every Tuesday and Thursday in the Lecture Theatre at lunch. Drop in and play some board games or test your skills on the Switch. 

YEARBOOK CLUB 

Help capture school memories! A camera is supplied! No experience is needed! Students who are interested should contact Mrs. Janay Cantin.

INDIGENOUS ART CLUB 

Students will begin to enhance their skills by working primarily with beads. Artisan trainees will start learning to bead using the 2-needle applique method during the following meeting times: Monday to Friday from 8:00 am - 8:45 am and lunch hour, as well as Wednesday: 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm, unless otherwise posted for special event teachings. All participants will be asked to log their hours. The expected time that a project may require ranges from 4 to 30 hours or more. Sessions will enhance students’ skill levels, enabling them to confidently participate at regional, provincial and national levels of Skills Canada competitions. Students will be able to compete at the school level, city and provincial levels this year based on performance and dedication to the skill required. See Mrs. Longjohn-Constant in room B26 for more details. 

FREE FEMININE MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS

École St Mary High School has received free feminine menstrual products to support our students. Students can go to the main office for their free products (box of tampons and a box of pads). Menstrual Equity in Saskatchewan Schools is a three-year initiative.

Fiero Code is a web-based computer-programming education resource for kids (ages 8+), teens, and adults. Learn how to code using Code Blocks, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, SQL, and much more. This educational resource will teach users how to create video games, apps, websites, animations, programs, etc. Fiero Code provides courses, tutorial videos, contest events, and more. From beginner to advanced, there is something for everyone with Fiero Code! (A Public Library Card is required.)
