When we think of the joy of Easter, we think of what the world could be like if everyone treated each other with respect. Take, for example, the importance of respect in a sporting event such as the Olympics. There is often a quote used that states: “The important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning, but taking part. The essential thing in life is not conquering, but fighting well.”  This message tells us that while winning can be fulfilling, it is extremely important that we try and that we respect each other in competition. When we do this, we can embrace Jesus' words to love each.

Inspire me to give of my best

and make good use of the talents You have given me.

Show me how to be positive in attitude,

appreciating and valuing others,

always being ready to encourage and give praise.

Lead me never to judge people,

LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL

École St Mary High School invites the community to Upstage Productions' two-act play, Legally Blonde The Musical. Harvard's beloved blonde takes the stage by pink storm in this fun, upbeat story of self-discovery. A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances - this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal! Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

EDSBY MESSAGE: April Overdue/Lost
In a few days, all Grade 9 – Grade 12 students with Overdue/Lost library books, textbooks, novel sets and calculators will be receiving an Edsby message titled “April Overdue/Lost”. It will have a screen capture of their library account listing these items. All Grade 10 - Grade 12 students with Overdue/Lost textbooks, novel sets and calculators will have these items added to their SchoolCash account. These items can be paid online (SchoolCash access on the division website at www.pacsd.ca) or in the main office. 

SPRING FORMAL DANCE: Thursday, April 30th

Hey Marauders, The time has come to begin thinking about our dance coming up at the end of month! On Thursday, April 30th our SLC is hosting a Spring Formal from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Based on our school-wide vote last month, the formal theme option won with 49% of the total votes! In addition, almost 200 students responded to say they would like to attend a spring dance. We cannot wait to see everyone out for this special night! The SLC has been planning the elements around this undertaking. From the members who will run the music, the canteen, and decorating, they are working really hard to make this a special night for our school. Dance tickets will be sold Monday, April 13th to Friday, April 17th over the lunch hour in front of the SLC office. You will need to pre-pay for the $5 ticket, and you must be enrolled at St. Mary to attend. If you need to be put on a late list, ensure you specify that when you buy a ticket. You will also need to communicate when you will be arriving to the dance. We can't wait to see our student body come out for a great night of dancing, celebration, and to just be together as Marauders. ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE: Grade 9-11 Information Session

Have you ever wanted to travel and study abroad? You don't have to wait for University! Long-term and short-term exchange programs are available right here in Prince Albert through the Prince Albert Rotary Club. If you have strong leadership qualities and are interested in languages and embracing different cultures you could study abroad as early as Grade 10! The presentation will be on Wednesday April 22nd at lunch in the library classroom. This presentation is for current Grade 9-11 students. AFFINITY FOR COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP: Grade 12

This scholarship is for any person entering their first year of university, college, vocational or trade school within the next year. Each year, we award 30 scholarships of $1,000 to individuals beginning their post-secondary education. This scholarship recognizes and supports students who've demonstrated a strong commitment to uplifting their community. This scholarship will open on Monday, January 5, 2026 and the deadline to apply is Wednesday, April 15, 2026. To be eligible to apply, students (or their parent or guardian) must be a member of Affinity Credit Union. THE SASKATCHEWAN INSTITUTE OF AGROLOGISTS

The Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists understands that youth are the future of the profession of agrology. To support youth in attaining a career in agrology-related sectors, including agriculture, bioresources, food, or the environment, the Institute’s six branches each award a scholarship of $1,500 to candidates who meet the eligibility requirements and demonstrate a desire to pursue a career in agrology and become agrologists. Eligibility: Presently a Saskatchewan Grade 12 high school student or recent graduate, have plans to enroll as a first-year full-time student in the fall in a post-secondary program related to agriculture, bioresources, food, or environment, which meets the eligibility requirements to apply for registration with the Institute after graduation. How to Apply: Application Requirements: Résumé demonstrating work and volunteer activities, Title page including full name and contact information – mailing address, phone number, and email address, high school information – name, location, phone number, principal’s name, and email address, Post-secondary information – the name of institution and program, Written essay (maximum of 500 words) titled “Why I’ve Chosen to Pursue a Career in Agrology”, which includes a 250-word answer to each of the following questions: What challenges or opportunities will the agriculture, bioresources, food or the environment industries be facing in 5 years? 10 years? PRINCE ALBERT PUBLIC LIBRARY: April Programs Guide

PAATA SCHOLARSHIP: 4 x $1000

The Prince Albert and Area Teachers’ Association (PAATA) awards four $1,000 scholarships to graduating Grade 12 students who are pursuing post-secondary studies related to the field of education. This includes careers focused on teaching, educational support, child and youth development, community education, and service-based professions. If these categories are not filled, the committee will entertain additional fields. Applicants must be graduating in the year of application, accepted to a recognized post-secondary institution, and submit a complete application package by April 30. Scholarships are available to students from PACSD, Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division (Urban and Rural), and children of active or recent PAATA members. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership and community involvement, the personal essay, references, and overall completeness of the application. SASKTEL INDIGENOUS YOUTH AWARDS: Gr 9-12

The SaskTel Indigenous Youth Awards of Excellence recognize youth achievement in the following categories: Outstanding Academic Achievement, Leadership, Culture & Community, Sports/Recreation, and Arts & Science. Applicants can apply in multiple categories but can only win once. Eligibility criteria includes: must be of First Nations, Metis, or Inuit ancestry; must be between 14 and 18 years of age as of June 28, 2025; must be a resident of Saskatchewan and a registered student in Saskatchewan; must be able to demonstrate outstanding commitment and/or ability in one of the award categories (2 reference letters are required with current contact information for each reference as they will be contacted). The deadline for applications is Thursday, April 30, 2026. The awards event will be held Friday, June 5, 2026. LAKE COUNTRY CO-OP STUDENT BURSARY: 3 x $2,500

Lake Country Co-op Student Bursary Program is offering three $2,500 bursaries to secondary schools within the trading area. To be eligible, the student must be: a grade 12 student graduating in 2026 and enrolled in full-time studies at a University, Post-Secondary Institution, or Technical Institute for the fall 2026 term; a permanent resident in the Lake Country Co-op trading area; a Lake Country Co-op Member (parent/guardian membership will be accepted); and willing to allow Lake Country Co-op to use submissions for advertising purposes. Applicants will be evaluated based on involvement in school and community activities, as well as the successful completion of grade 12, and acceptance in post-secondary studies. To be considered, the application requires the completion of the questions, as well as a written essay and a video submission. Written Essay Question: What can Lake Country Co-op do to better serve the youth of our communities and encourage their involvement in the local Co-op? Students who are interested in the 2025 - 2026 driver education program are to register online through Microsoft Forms: Driver Education Registration 2025 - 2026 (This link is also posted in Edsby.) Mr. Bourdon will then place students into groups on Edsby. A reminder that spots fill up quickly, so it is important for students to select their two top options to best accommodate each student.

Need a quiet spot to focus on your homework, use a computer, study for an exam, or simply to enjoy your lunch in peace? Then come join us in Room B20 (Mr. Kirilenko's classroom)! Homework Club runs Monday to Friday from 12:14 pm to 1:14pm. All students are welcome to attend!

ART CLUB 

Art Club is every Thursday from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm in the Art Room. Drop-ins are always welcome! 

GAMES CLUB 

Games Club is every Tuesday and Thursday in the Lecture Theatre at lunch. Drop in and play some board games or test your skills on the Switch. 

YEARBOOK CLUB 

Help capture school memories! A camera is supplied! No experience is needed! Students who are interested should contact Mrs. Janay Cantin.

INDIGENOUS ART CLUB 

Students will begin to enhance their skills by working primarily with beads. Artisan trainees will start learning to bead using the 2-needle applique method during the following meeting times: Monday to Friday from 8:00 am - 8:45 am and lunch hour, as well as Wednesday: 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm, unless otherwise posted for special event teachings. All participants will be asked to log their hours. The expected time that a project may require ranges from 4 to 30 hours or more. Sessions will enhance students’ skill levels, enabling them to confidently participate at regional, provincial and national levels of Skills Canada competitions. Students will be able to compete at the school level, city and provincial levels this year based on performance and dedication to the skill required. See Mrs. Longjohn-Constant in room B26 for more details. 

FREE FEMININE MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS

École St Mary High School has received free feminine menstrual products to support our students. Students can go to the main office for their free products (box of tampons and a box of pads). Menstrual Equity in Saskatchewan Schools is a three-year initiative.
