This coming Sunday, the church will celebrate World Day of Youth. This is a day that the church recognizes the importance of the younger generations in our faith families. In the Pope's World Youth Day message, he asks each of us to be more like our school's namesake - Mary, mother of God. The Pope asks the Youth of the world to also act quickly, just as Mary did, to help those who are in need, and to spread the good news of Jesus to those around us.
As young people of faith,
it is our job to spread your good news to those around us.
Help us to be charitable, thoughtful,
and to help those in need in our community.
Lastly, guide us to be more like Mary,
so we too may "arise and go in haste, to carry Jesus within our hearts
and bring him to all those whom we meet".
We ask this through Jesus Christ, your son.
