UPSTAGE PRODUCTIONS: 12 Angry Jurors
École St Mary High School invites the community to Upstage Productions' two-act play, "12 Angry Jurors". Show times at the École St Mary High School Lecture Theatre are from Wednesday, November 24th to Saturday, November 27th, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door on performance evenings: $10.00 for adults (ages 19 and over) and $5.00 for students (ages 18 years and under). Actors on stage will not be wearing masks. Based on consultation with the local Chief Medical Officer and Public Health, the following measures will be implemented:
- Masks are required for all audience members.
- Proof of vaccination is required for those in attendance 12 yr olds and over.
- Seating is limited to 75% capacity.
U of R HIGH SCHOOL ACCELERATED
The University of Regina’s High
School Accelerated (HSXL) program allows grade 11 & 12 students to take U
of R courses while still in high school. The U of R
Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) is hosting an information night about HSXL
on Wednesday, November 17th from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Benefits,
deadlines, course offerings, requirements, dual credit, and more will be

INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD
Any students interested in getting involved with indoor track and field can find more information on the PA Athletics website at www.paathletics.ca. The registration deadline is Friday, November 19th. Become an athlete or coach and train with other athletes from Prince Albert and area.
CANADIAN LEGION CONTESTS
Students are encouraged to enter the Canadian Legion Contests. There are categories for Posters (color, black and white) and Literary (Essay and Poem) with levels for Primary, Junior, Intermediate (gr7-9) and Senior (gr 10-12). All entries, including the entry form, must be returned to the Prince Albert Canadian Legion by Wednesday, November 10th. Students who plan to join the wrestling team are to attend a meeting in Room 236 at 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 18th OR Friday, November 19th. GRAD CLOTHING ORDER
Grad clothing for the Senior class 2022 is now open. The first deadline for orders is Monday, November 15th so the order can arrive before Christmas. The Grad Clothing store will open and close on two additional occasions throughout the 2022 school year. For additional information, please locate the Edsby message sent to the Grade 12 students.
CUELENAERE LIBRARY PAGE JOB
Students are invited to apply for the library page job (12 hours per week) by dropping off a brief resume and completing an application form at the public library. A proof of vaccination (card, QR code) or negative COVID test will also be required, as well as completion of the Young Workers Readiness Certificate.
U of T VIRTUAL PRESENTATION FOR SK STUDENTS
The “University of Toronto Presentation for Students in Saskatchewan” webcast on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 7:00 PM until 8:00 PM (CST) will feature an overview of U of T, the three campuses, 700+ academic program options, and the wealth of opportunities offered inside and outside the classroom. SCHULICH LEADER SCHOLARSHIP
The Schulich Leader Scholarship is a prestigious entrance scholarship awarded to a high school graduate enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) program at one of 20 partner universities. The nominated student can win one of 25 engineering scholarships at $100,000 or one of 25 science, technology, or math scholarships at $80,000. The criteria include academic excellence, leadership, and financial need. It is important to note that students who are planning for a career as a medical practitioner or researcher (doctor, dentist, nurse, psychologist, pharmacist, optometrist, etc.) are NOT eligible to apply. This scholarship is for entrepreneurial-minded innovators outside of the medical community. École St. Mary High School can only nominate ONE candidate and nomination is competitive. TERRY FOX HUMANITARIAN AWARD
The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award ($28,000 dispersed over four years) is open to students of all abilities who are pursuing a degree or diploma at a Canadian post-secondary institution. Recipients are selected for their dedication to the humanitarian ideals of Terry Fox to improve human welfare, make a difference, and have a positive impact on community and others, their courage in overcoming obstacles (physical, financial, etc.), and definite marks of distinction and persistence in the pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic, and civic life. TOPPERS VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS: Girls 13U – 18U
Registration opens on Friday, October 15th and closes on Monday, November 15th. Students must register for tryouts and a prepayment fee of $25 is required. All tryouts will take place at Alfred Jenkins over two weekends: Saturday, November 27th & Sunday, November 28th; and Saturday, December 4th & Sunday, December 5th. The Prince Albert Concert Band is pleased to offer the opportunity for concert band musicians ages 12-17 to join the Prince Albert Youth Band. LIVES THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE ESSAY CONTEST
Students in Grade 5- Grade 12 may enter the contest by writing an essay (300 words or less) based on someone they think made the biggest impact (positive or negative) on Canadian society in 2021. Prizes are awarded in two grade levels: Grade 5-8 and Grade 9-12. Two winners will be selected in each level: Grand Prize is $3,000 for the student and $1000 for the Department/Classroom of the teacher. First Prize is $2,000 for the student and $1000 for the Department/Classroom of the teacher. The deadline to enter is December 31st, 2021. PADDY O’ROURKE POETRY SCHOLARSHIP ($1000)
The Paddy O’Rourke Poetry Scholarship was established in 2018 to recognize and encourage young Saskatchewan poets. It is named in honour of Patrick (Paddy) O’Rourke, a teacher, literary editor, mentor and prominent friend of Saskatoon’s and Saskatchewan’s arts community. The Paddy O’Rourke Poetry Scholarship will be awarded annually, at the discretion of the Scholarship judges and administrators. The amount awarded will be determined in part by donor support. The 2022 scholarship will be for $1,000 CDN. Applications will be accepted from April 1 to April 30, 2022. Applications must be submitted by mail or courier. DRIVER EDUCATION 2021-2022
