came down from heaven to be born in a stable.  

What love that must be for all of us!

ALEX PRYTULA AWARD GRAD 2021: $2,000
During the Commencement Ceremony of Grad 2021, a male and a female student will be presented with this $2,000 award. The criteria for the award is as follows: outstanding contributions, financial need, and academics.  The deadline to apply is Tuesday, March 16th. An application form is available online on the school career website at http://bit.ly/AwardGrade12. The completed application form must be emailed to Mr. Gareau at dwayne.gareau@pacsd.ca, along with proof of acceptance (letter, email) into a post-secondary program, and a digital photo.  The digital photo must be a high-resolution digital photo (2-4 megabyte JPG, not PNG) of the applicant doing an activity (sports, dance, volunteering etc.). Please do not copy the JPG onto a word document, use a JPG sent in a text message, or use a JPG sent in an email with other photos, since these scenarios compress the size of the JPG.

CBYF PRINCE ALBERT: NEW YEAR'S POETRY CONTEST
To continue spreading cheer, Communities Building Youth Futures (CBYF) Prince Albert is promoting a Poetry Contest for youth ages 14 – 30. Poems must be original,  have a New Year's theme, and be submitted by Friday, January 8th, 2021. The winner will receive a $50 gift card from #Propaganda. Poems are a great way of expressing yourself! They can be short and sweet, don't need to be grammatically correct, words can be spelled however you want, and sentences can flow all over your page. WINDSCRIPT MAGAZINE WRITING CONTEST
All Saskatchewan high school students are invited to submit creative writing in any form including poetry, prose and creative fiction. Students whose work is selected will be featured in Windscript Vol. 37, released in 2021, and given a $30 honorarium plus two complimentary copies of the magazine. PRINCESS OF WALES & DUCHESS OF CORNWALL SCHOLARSHIPS: Gr 11

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Scholarship ($500) is awarded to a Grade 11 student to assist in finishing their Grade 12 school year. Four student qualities will be considered: school and/or community-based leadership, responsibilities outside of school, financial support needed and academic performance. École St. Mary High School can nominate one candidate and nomination is competitive. Please email a description of school/community-based leadership (up to 300 works), responsibilities outside of school (up to 300 works), a statement about financial need (up to 300 works), and a statement that highlights your academic performance (up to 300 works) to Mrs. Rapin in Student Services by Friday, February 1, 2020 to be considered for nomination. The nominated application deadline is March 15, 2021. 


QUEEN’S DIAMOND JUBILEE SCHOLARSHIP: Gr 12

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA SCHOLARSHIPS
The main U of R campus scholarship portal will be open in mid-January. Workshops pertaining to U of R scholarships, the Student Awards Management System (SAMS), as well as Campion College Scholarships will be offered from mid-February to early March. Scholarship information, including the dates for the various Zoom workshops, is available at https://www.uregina.ca/safa/announcements-workshops.html. The deadline to apply for awards is March 15th, 2021.

SCHOLAR TREE SCHOLARSHIP DATABASE
The Holiday Break Scholarship List hotlink leads to scholarships that are currently available, as well as the scholarships that will be available over the holidays. To create a customized list of scholarships and a weekly email reminder of deadlines, students are encouraged to create a profile on ScholarTree. Students can use the filter "Applications Open" only to see those scholarships currently accepting applications at the top left of their scholarship list.

YORK UNIVERSITY FREE TUITION CONTEST

AGRICULTURE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
For students passionate about telling the story of the agriculture industry, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture is proudly offering the Agriculture Student Scholarship for the eleventh consecutive year. Saskatchewan Grade 12 students and recent high school graduates (within the last two years) have the chance to win a grand-prize scholarship of $4,000 or one of three runner-up scholarships of $2,000 when they submit a three-minute video or 1,000-word essay. This year’s scholarship theme, ‘transparency,’ encourages youth to explore the idea of transparency in agriculture and how it affects public perception of the industry. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be planning to take an agriculture-related post-secondary education program beginning in the fall of 2021. CANADIAN PARENTS FOR FRENCH: Sarcan Fundraiser
Canadian Parents for French - Prince Albert Chapter would appreciate support to raise scholarship funds for École St Mary High School students in the Gr. 9 to 12 French Immersion program. PROGRAMMES DESTINATION CLIC, EXPLORE et ODYSSÉE
Vous aimeriez voyager et mieux apprendre le français? Si oui, les programmes Destination Clic, Explore et Odyssée sont pour vous. Il y aura une présentation le jeudi 19 novembre en après-midi sur les programmes Destination Clic, Explore et Odyssée donnée par le Gouvernement de la Saskatchewan. La présentation aura lieu virtuellement. Si cela vous intéresse, vous pouvez envoyer un message à M. Joncas (remi.joncas@pacsd.ca). Une inscription est requise. Le programme Destination Clic est pour les 8e et les 9e années qui veulent perfectionner leur français. Ça se passe en Ontario, au Québec ou au Nouveau-Brunswick. Le programme Explore s'adresse aux 13-15 ans et permet aux élèves d'apprendre le français et découvrir la culture locale d'une autre province. Le programme Odyssée s'adresse aux étudiants post-secondaire et permet aux jeunes de travailler comme assistant en éducation en anglais dans une école du Québec ou du Nouveau-Brunswick.
