Thursday, December 3rd

DAY 1

MORNING PRAYER

First week of Advent
In ancient Israel, very important people like kings rode into a city on a horse.
Zechariah says the Messiah, however, will ride into Jerusalem on a colt, a young donkey.
This is exactly what Jesus did when he came to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover.
This Messianic prophecy also compares God’s people to jewels in a king’s crown.
 Zechariah 9:9-11,16-17a

Zechariah calls us jewels in your crown, God.
Jewels are valuable and they shine. Keep us your valuable workers for Christ’s peace.
Make us shine with love for others.
Amen
