MORNING PRAYER

 Today’s Gospel (John 6:44-51) speaks of why some people had difficulty with Jesus talking about himself as the “bread of life”. Many neighbors who saw Jesus grow up couldn’t understand his words: “I am the living bread that came down from heaven.”

Lord Jesus, your food is all that we truly need. May we partake of your Eucharist and know that we are one with you and our Father who sent you to us to teach us how to really live. Amen

ST. MARY HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION AWARDS

Grade 12 students who are interested in applying for Graduation awards may pick up an awards package at the office. The application deadline is Friday, May 9th at 3:30 p.m. The following information template must be completed: Award Applicant Personal Information 2014 (Click link to download) Final applications may be mailed to Mr. Tessier at robert.tessier@pacsd.ca

NATIONAL DAY OF HONOUR
The Government of Canada has set aside Friday, May 9th to mark the end of our country’s military mission in Afghanistan. We will be joining Canadians across the country at 1:30 p.m. for a national moment of silence.  In conjunction with that day citizens are encouraged to wear red.   

Relay for Life

The event requires 4 student volunteers to help with parking on Friday, May 30th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  Please see Mrs. Kopchynski if you can help.

Encounters Canada-Experience Canada Week 

Be in the centre of the action on Parliament Hill, with a front row VIP seat at the Canada Day Celebrations! Experience Canada Week is from June 29th to July 5th, 2014. Encounters Canada has specifically designed this week for high school students who are new or first generation Canadians. Please see Mrs. McLeod in Student Services for more information on how to apply. 

GRAD PHOTO RETAKES

Retakes will be Friday, May 16th starting at 9:30 am.  Please see Mrs. Kopchynski to schedule a time if a retake is needed.  There is a possibility of a $20 fee being charged.  If you are getting a sitting for the first time the charge is $30.

PRINCE ALBERT AND DISTRICT SCHOLARSHIPS
The Tillie and Joe Kawula Scholarship($1,000) and The Hershel Davidner Memorial Scholarship($1,000)  will be awarded to two graduating Grade 12 students  entering a post secondary school. These scholarships are open to Grade 12 graduates from S.R.S.Division and P.A.R.C.S.Division. The deadline to apply is May 30^th, 2014. Please see a counselor in Student Services for application details.​

TRACK 'N' FIELD SIGN UP

Any student who is interested in Track & Field, but is unable to attend the sign up meeting should contact Mr. Prins or Mrs. Town.

2014 GRAD SWEATERS

Sweaters will be available for sizing in the Commons on Wednesday, May 7th and Thursday, May 8th at lunch. The sweaters are $28 and you must bring the money before you can be sized.  Students ordering must have the correct money since the office is not available to make change.

CANADIAN FRENCH BURSARY

French immersion students can apply for this bursary.  Please see M. Gervais to get an application form. The deadline for applications is Saturday, May 4th. The Grade 9, 10, 11  bursary is $100.00 for each grade while the Grade 12 bursary is $ 300.00  An essay of 250 words is required to apply for this bursary.

CALLING ALL ARTISTS
The Mann Art Gallery proudly presents the Third Annual Juried Art Show.  Submission may be of any medium.  Submissions are due to the art gallery or Ms. Charlebois-Rinas by Monday, May 12th, unframed.  See Ms. CR for a submission form.  Show reception will be Wednesday, May 28th at 7:00 p.m.

WIZARD OF OZ MUSICAL

The musical, The Wizard of Oz, will be presented at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre from Wednesday, May 7th - Saturday, May 10th at 7:30 p.m., as well as a Saturday Matinee on May 10^th at 1:00 p.m.  Tickets cost $18.00 for adults (ages 19 and over) and $13.00 for students (ages 18 years and under) and are available at the E.A. Rawlinson Box Office or by phoning 765-1270. ​

DATE CHANGE:   U of S U-START 2014

U-Start 2014 will be held on Thursday, May 22nd at St. Mary High School in the Theatre from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. The U-Start session is facilitated by the U of S and will show new students and their parents how to  register for their classes, organize class schedules, housing options, transitions programs, and more. Students may go online and register with the U of S for the U-Start session.​

APPOINTMENT WITH U of S ACADEMIC ADVISOR 

Grade 12 students who have registered to attend the U of S this fall will have the opportunity to meet with a U of S Academic Advisor on Thursday, May 29^th. He will be here from 9:00 a.m. to 3:25 p.m.The advisor will help you with course selection and any other questions you may have. You must sign up by or before Tuesday, May 27^th to meet with him. Please see Mrs. M^cLeod in student services to sign up.

GLEE CLUB
Glee Club rehearsals are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:15 a.m. and Wednesday at 12:25 p.m.

YEARBOOK CLUB
Meetings are Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. in Rm 143.

JAZZ BAND
Jazz Band rehearsals are scheduled for Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. in Rm B26.

WEDNESDAY SUPPER STUDY
Students are invited to go to the library after school to receive additional teacher support. As well, a supper is served at 5:00 p.m.
CHESS CLUB

CROSS COUNTRY
Practices will be on Monday - Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

PRINCE ALBERT WRESTLING CLUB

If anyone is interested in club wrestling, practice is every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Carlton white gym.  All high school male and female students are welcome. See Ms. Richards for more information.
