DAY 1
MORNING PRAYER
As we begin our
week dedicated to Catholic Education, let us reflect on the theme for this
year: Catholic Education: Pilgrims of Hope: On the Path to Holiness. In 2025,
we observed and closed off a Jubilee year, a time of forgiveness and renewal.
We were called by our late Pope Francis to be “Pilgrims of Hope.” This year, we
continue with this theme, as the ending of the Jubilee does not end our call to
be a people of hope to all those around us. We continue down this path to
holiness, ever striving to complete our duty as Pilgrims of Hope, until we meet
the Father and Son, once again. The gift of Catholic Education helps each of us
along this path, as we continue to strive to live the life on the path of
holiness in our homes, schools, parishes and communities. As we celebrate this
week, let us keep in mind what St. Paul had said, as he was a great example of
a man who turned away from sin and followed the path to holiness as a Pilgrim
of Hope, until his death: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the
race, I have kept the faith. From now on there is reserved for me the crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day,
and not only to me but also to all who have longed for His appearing.”
Thank You for the gift of words.
Thank You that what we say can encourage, help, and heal.
Sometimes we speak without thinking.
Sometimes our words hurt instead of help.
Please teach us to pause, to listen carefully,
and to choose words that show kindness and respect.
Help us remember that our words have power.
They can build people up or tear them down.
Guide our mouths and our hearts,
so what we say brings peace, not anger, hope, not fear.
When we are upset or frustrated,
help us stay calm and speak honestly, but gently.
When others are hurting,
help us use words that comfort and include.
Make us peacemakers at school, at home, and with our friends.
Let our words reflect Your love and help make the world a kinder place.
