Monday, March 6th

DAY 1

MORNING PRAYER

Lent has two major purposes: It recalls or prepares for baptism, and it emphasizes the spirit of penance. Through 40 days of closer attention to God's word and more prayers, believers are prepared to celebrate the paschal mystery. The high point of the church is year of prayer Paschal Triduum (celebrating the dying and rising of Jesus Christ).

O God,

You make your light shine in the darkness of life,

so that we see no longer darkness, but shining light.

Transform the very things that weigh heavily on our spirits

into sources of joy for our hearts

and peace for our world.

Transfigure our struggling selves,

so we can reflect your glory.

Bless us as a family of Faith.

Together we make our prayer

through Christ Our Lord.

Amen
