DAY 2
MORNING PRAYER
September 30th is National Truth and Reconciliation Day - a day dedicated to educate Canadians about the experiences of First Nations peoples who had their culture, language and spirituality taken from them in the residential school system. September 30th is a federal statutory day meant for reflection and embracing Calls to Action. Let us pray for those affected by residential schools.
O God,
We praise you for
your gifts that surround us.
Open our eyes to
the injustices
brought against
First Nation Peoples
in Canada’s
Residential Schools.
Give us determined
hearts
to refuse to stand
by
when the dignity of
your children is denied.
Help us all to work together
to make our world a
better place.
Help us to embrace
truth and reconciliation.
We make this prayer
in the name of Jesus.
Amen
