Thursday, April 14th

DAY 1

MORNING PRAYER

Today is Holy Thursday, a day during Holy Week when we remember the actions of Jesus at the Last Supper. We are told that after supper, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples and told them to do likewise. Normally, washing the feet of others was the lowest chore someone could be asked to do. When Jesus washed his disciples' feet, his actions demonstrated that we are to live a life where we serve others.

Lord God,

You sent your son into the world.

Before his hour had come,

he washed the feet of his disciples.

Lord, help us to learn from his example

and help us to do as he has done.

Strengthen our hands and our wills,

to love and serve others.

Through Christ our Lord

Amen
