Friday, March 26th

MORNING PRAYER

On Sunday, we will remember Palm Sunday.  On Palm Sunday, the people greeted the arrival of Jesus as the new King of Jerusalem - thinking he would be a military king and rid the Israelites of the Roman occupation. Instead, Jesus wanted to save all of humanity, in all times and places - so, out of love, he willingly went to the cross to die for us, and then rose again on Easter Sunday. Palm Sunday marks the last week of Jesus' life, as we follow him towards the cross.

Father,

You sent Jesus to be our redeemer.

On Sunday, we commemorate the final week of Jesus' life.

Help us to look at this journey in a new way,

so that we can really see the love that Jesus has for us.

Our Lenten journey has been to focus on a light

that shines in the darkness.

May we intensify our desire to be closer to Jesus,

as we begin this important week.

Through Christ our Lord,

Amen
