SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS 

CANCER SOCIETY BANQUET VOLUNTEERS

The Canadian Cancer Society needs volunteers to work at the banquet and fashion show on Wednesday, April 25th at the Prince Albert Exhibition Centre.  The volunteer shifts are 5 pm - 9 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.  If you are interested in volunteering or have questions about the volunteer duties, please contact Ms Leask in Rm B29. 

STUDENT REGISTRATION

Student registration for the 2018-2019 school year will be on Tuesday, April 24th. All assemblies will occur in the Lecture Theatre.  Current French Immersion Grade 9 students will have an assembly in Period 1. Current English Grade 9 students will have an assembly during Period 2. Current Grade 10 students will have an assembly for the first half of Period 3 with the second half being for current Grade 11 students. 

FAMILY COMEDY NIGHT

Where: Basement of the Sacred Heart Cathedral at 1401-4th Avenue West (Please use the north side door.)

When: Friday, April 20th at 7:30 p.m.

Cost: $20.00/person or $50.00/family. Tickets will be sold at the door.

The proceeds will go to the homeless in Prince Albert.
Come join us for lots of laughs and to support a great cause!

GRAD PHOTO RETAKES
Grad photo retakes will be on Monday, April 23^rd for those students requiring them. Please see Mrs. Kopchynski in order to be scheduled for retakes.

THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS MUSICAL

École St Mary High School invites the community to Upstage Productions', "The Wind in the Willows". Show times at the E.A. Rawlinson Centre are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p.m. from May 9^th to May 12^th.  Tickets cost $18.00 for adults (ages 19 and over) and $13.00 for students (ages 18 years and under) and are available at the E.A. Rawlinson Box Office or by phoning 765-1270.​

SMHS GRAD AWARDS

Students who are interested in applying for awards that will be presented at Grad 2018 must submit a Grad 2018 Awards Application Checklist Cover Page and aGrad 2018 Awards Application. These forms, as well as forms for General Proficiency Application, Royal Canadian Legion Verification, and The Sisters of Our Ladies of the Cross Scholarship Application are available at http://bit.ly/SMHSGradAwards An awards package containing the description of the awards is available at the main office. The checklist cover page, awards application, and other required documents, such as reference letters (not a relative, include contact information etc.), must be submitted to the main office no later than Friday, May 18^th at 3:30 p.m.

LIFESAVING SOCIETY UPCOMING COURSES
Bronze Cross and Bronze Medallion courses will be offered at Marion Aquatics on April 21^st and April 22^nd from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Participants must be 13 years of age, pass the Bronze Medallion exam and Emergency First Aid (need not be current). The cost is $325.00. Please contact Marion Aquatics to register.

RELAY FOR LIFE FUNDRAISER

Chelsea Mitchell is raising funds for the Canadian Cancer Society through Relay for Life.  If you would like to help support Chelsea, she is selling Relay for Life Bracelets for $5.00.  They are available for purchase at the office.

ACCESS COMMUNICATIONS SCHOLARSHIPS 
Access Communications will award up to 20 scholarships of $1,000 each to graduating students in Saskatchewan who are planning to attend post-secondary school at either a technical college or university. For eligibility, selection criteria, and application forms visit www.MyAccess.ca/InTheCommunity . The submission deadline is April 20, 2018.

AFFINITY CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIPS - GRADE 11 & GRADE 12

Affinity Credit Union has two great scholarship opportunities for Grade 11 and Grade 12 students. To be eligible to apply, students must be a member of Affinity Credit Union or have a parent or guardian who is a member. Elwood Harvey Co-operative Leadership Program – Grade 11 students
Each student receives a $2500 award upon completion of the leadership program. Twenty-six students are accepted into the program. This award is offered by our District Councils, who have been elected to represent their communities within the Credit Union. The program gives recipients the opportunity to participate in their local District Council meetings and a variety of other events during their grade 12 year! Deadline to apply is May 1, 2018.
Build a Better World Scholarship – Grade 12 students

This program is designed for students graduating in spring 2018 and enrolling in post-secondary education. We have 60 scholarships of $500 to award this year! Deadline to apply is May 1, 2018.

CREATIVE CAMP OPPORTUNITY 

Are you looking for a creative outlet this summer? Try Creative Writing, Drama, or Musical Theatre Summer Camp. It is open to students in grades 7-12 and located at the International Music Camp on the border between North Dakota and Manitoba.  The cost is approx. $400-500 for the week.  For details, see Mrs. Gareau in Rm 210, or check out the site at:  www.internationalmusiccamp.com.

CANADIAN PARENTS FOR FRENCH SCHOLARSHIPS

Canadian Parents for French is offering 4 scholarships for French Immersion students, one per grade level. Grade 9 to 11 scholarships are $100, Grade 12 is $300. If you are interested, please contact the main office or Mr. Joncas in Rm 238. The deadline for applications is May 4, 2018.

Speed training will be every Friday until further notice.

WEDNESDAY SUPPER STUDY
Students are invited to go to the library every Wednesday after school to receive additional teacher support. As well, a supper is served at 5:00 p.m.

OPEN SHOP FOR PAA STUDENTS

Students who are currently taking PAA classes that involve construction or drafting are invited to use the shop equipment, under teacher supervision, during lunch hours every Monday - Thursday. Please contact Mr. Thalheimer or Mr. Welter for more information.
