Lord,
In
my better times it is easy for me to ask in prayer
that I may never allow the negative actions of others
to dictate that I
should act in a negative way.
In the difficult times that I may face in the
future,
I ask that I may be true to my inner convictions
and still look for the best in others, remaining
generous towards them.
Remind me, too, that, as time moves on,
people
can change and their attitude can change for the better.

UPSTAGE PRODUCTIONS' "BLITHE SPIRIT"
St Mary High School would like to invite the community to Upstage Productions' two-act play, "Blithe Spirit”. The smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, this much-revived classic offers up fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira who is called up by a visiting “happy medium,” one Madame Arcati. Show times at the St. Mary High School Lecture Theatre are Wednesday, November 29th - Saturday, December 2nd at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for Adults and $5 for Students and are available at the main office or at the theatre before the performance.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Students are needed to help
with collecting tickets and selling baking at the play next week. The play
runs Wednesday, November 29 - Saturday, December 2. If you can help on one or more of those
nights, please see Mrs. Bernier in room 203 to sign up. The play is in the Lecture Theatre and you would need to be there from 6:45 p.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m. These hours may be used for Christian Service time. See your Christian Ethics teacher
for approval.
Anyone who is interested in wrestling this year, registration and an information meeting will be on Wednesday, November 29th after school in the wrestling room. The first practice is on Thursday, November 30th. Please contact Ms. Richards in Room 128 (library) for more information.

There will be a SLC meeting on Thursday, November 30th at 12:30 p.m. in Mrs. Thurber’s room. This is an important and mandatory meeting so bring your lunch to eat during the meeting.

The Prince Albert Knights of Columbus and the R.C.M.P. are working together to collect new or gently used coats, ski pants, toques/hats, mitts, scarves, etc. for children ages 2-12 years of age living in Saskatchewan northern communities. Donations will be accepted at any Catholic Church in Prince Albert, or at St. Mary High School (Mr. Corcoran in Room 227), until the middle of November. Cash donations will be accepted to purchase outerwear for children.

EARLY ADMISSION TO U OF S
December 1st, 2017 is the deadline to apply for Early Admission to U of S for programs in Edwards School of Business, Engineering, Education, Kinesiology and Bachelor of Science in Animal Biosciences. By December 1, 2017 applicants must submit the online application for admission and application fee, an up-to-date transcript, and proof of English proficiency, if required. Within 2-3 business days after applying for admission, each applicant will receive a Network Services ID (NSID) and password to access PAWS, the web portal of the uSask, where the student can check the status of the applications and also apply for awards. The deadline to apply for Regular Admission to U of S is February 15th, 2018. Information about calculation of the admission averages, and the required subjects by program are available on the U of S website.
U OF S: BEST & BRIGHTEST SCHOLARSHIPS AND CIRCLE OF HONOUR AWARDS
High-achieving students are encouraged to apply for Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships, the highest-valued, renewable scholarships worth up to $40,000, which are awarded to recognize academic excellence and community engagement. Included in these awards are five that are specifically designated for Aboriginal students, known as the Circle of Honour Awards. To be considered, students must apply for admission by December 1, 2017 and submit their scholarship application through their PAWS account by December 15, 2017. Information about calculating an admission average, and required subjects by program are available on the U of S website.
