WINTER CLOTHING DONATIONS
The Prince Albert Knights of Columbus and the R.C.M.P. are working together to collect new or gently used coats, ski pants, toques/hats, mitts, scarves, etc. for children ages 2-12 years of age living in Saskatchewan northern communities. Donations will be accepted at any Catholic Church in Prince Albert, or at St. Mary High School (Mr. Corcoran in Room 227), until the middle of November.  Cash donations will be accepted to purchase outerwear for children. 

SASK POLYTECH OPEN HOUSE
INSIGHT events provide an opportunity for prospective students to experience a Sask Polytech program first hand. These half-day events on Wednesday, November 16th will provide insight into a specific program, student life, campus atmosphere, admission requirements, and the application process. Registration is now open at saskpolytech.ca/INSIGHT Check out the participating programs and times at each campus city: Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon.


EARLY ADMISSION TO U OF S
December 1st, 2017 is the deadline to apply for Early Admission to U of S for programs in Edwards School of Business, Engineering, Education, Kinesiology and Bachelor of Science in Animal Biosciences. By December 1, 2017 applicants must submit the online application for admission and application fee, an up-to-date transcript, and proof of English proficiency, if required. Within 2-3 business days after applying for admission, each applicant will receive a Network Services ID (NSID) and password to access PAWS, the web portal of the uSask, where the student can check the status of the applications and also apply for awards. The deadline to apply for Regular Admission to U of S is February 15th, 2018. Information about calculation of the admission averages, and the required subjects by program are available on the U of S website.

U OF S: BEST & BRIGHTEST SCHOLARSHIPS AND CIRCLE OF HONOUR AWARDS
High-achieving students are encouraged to apply for Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships, the highest-valued, renewable scholarships worth up to $40,000, which are awarded to recognize academic excellence and community engagement. Included in these awards are five that are specifically designated for Aboriginal students, known as the Circle of Honour Awards. To be considered, students must apply for admission by December 1, 2017 and submit their scholarship application through their PAWS account by December 15, 2017. Information about calculating an admission average, and required subjects by program are available on the U of S website.


SEE OUR FUTURE – EDUCATION & CAREER FAIR
The 20th annual See Our Future - Education & Career Fair will be held in Saskatoon on November 7, 2017 at TCU Place. Students can explore educational opportunities, examine career paths and plan vocational goals. Over 120 exhibitors will take part in the fair. Go to www.seeyourfuture.ca

TD SCHOLARSHIP FOR COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP
TD Scholarships are awarded to students across Canada who have shown exceptional initiative in making a meaningful and lasting difference in their community. Each scholarship includes four years of tuition at any approved university or college in Canada and opportunities for summer employment at TD. The deadline to apply is November 17th, 2017. ADVENTURES IN AGRICULTURE
This Rotary International Program for Senior High School Students will be hosted in Regina from November 22nd – November 26th, 2017. It provides students with an opportunity to visit Agribition (including the rodeo), tour major agriculture based industries, participate in networking and information sessions conducted by agriculture industry professionals and business leaders, participate in an in-depth forum discussion on the subject “Are present Agricultural practices environmentally sustainable?”, and be hosted at luncheons and dinners sponsored by industry partners. A sponsoring Rotary Club will select participating students based upon a school’s recommendation. Students entering Grades 11 and 12 who want to learn more about the agriculture industry and its career opportunities are encouraged to apply. TOPPERS VOLLEYBALL CLUB 2018 TRYOUTS

PRINCE ALBERT WRESTLING CLUB
PAWC has begun!  Practices are on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.  Please see Ms. Richards in Room 128 for more information.

PRINCE ALBERT WRESTLING CLUB
Club wrestling will be starting soon.  If you are interested in wrestling this year, please see Ms. Richards in Room 128 (library).  We are especially looking for Grade 9 athletes born in in 2004 or 2005 to participate in the Sask Winter Games in February.

WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS
WEDNESDAY SUPPER STUDY
Students are invited to go to the library every Wednesday after school to receive additional teacher support. As well, a supper is served at 5:00 p.m.

OPEN SHOP FOR PAA STUDENTS
Students who are currently taking PAA classes that involve construction or drafting are invited to use the shop equipment, under teacher supervision, during lunch hours every Monday - Thursday. Please contact Mr. Thalheimer or Mr. Welter for more information.
