CPF SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE – MAY 5TH
The deadline for Canadian Parents for French is Friday May 5th. Please see Mr. Joncas or any French Immersion teacher for a form. There are a $100 scholarship for each grade, from Grade 9 to 11, and $300 for Grade 12. You can hand in your forms at the Main Office.

STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PHOTO PROJECT
Volunteers are needed for a student’s communication media project that requires students from diverse backgrounds who are willing to be in front of the camera. If you or your friends would like to participate, please contact Ms. LaVallee or the main office. This project may be used for Christian Ethics service hours. 

GRADE 11: ROTARY CITIZENSHIP AWARD
Grade 11 students are encouraged to apply for the Rotary Citizenship Award to be presented at the awards presentation in June. This $250 award is presented to a Grade 11 student who is involved in the school, community, and parish. The application form, available at http://bit.ly/2oQeNhR on the Pursue Online career website, must be submitted to the main office by Monday, May 15th at 3:30 p.m. The student's academic transcript and attendance will also be given to the awards selection committee.

GRADE 9-11: GENERAL PROFICIENCY AWARD
Students in Grade 9-11 are encouraged to apply for the General Proficiency Award to be presented at the awards presentation in June. "The General Proficiency Award will be presented to the student who makes the most complete contribution to the whole life of St. Mary High School. Participation in all aspects of school life  academics, religious life, and school-sponsored activities  will be considered." The application form, available at http://bit.ly/2oQeNhR on the Pursue Online career website, must be submitted to the main office by Monday, May 15th at 3:30 p.m. 

THE CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE OF CANADA – SOCIAL JUSTICE AWARD ($1000)
The Saskatchewan Provincial Council of the Catholic Women’s League has established a Social Justice Award to enable young women to engage in social justice work. The awards application deadline is April 30th, 2017. For information on award criteria and an application form, see Mrs. Rapin in Student Services.

FRED FOX MEET AND GREET
The public is invited to a Meet and Greet with Fred Fox, the brother of Terry Fox. The event will be at the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club on Monday, May 15th at 7:00 p.m. and will feature a presentation, a question-and-answer session, as well as the opportunity to purchase 2017 Terry Fox Run t-shirts, meet local Run organizers, and have Fred Fox sign a favorite photo.

SMHS GRAD 2017 AWARDS
Students who are interested in applying for awards that will be presented at Grad 2017 must submit a Grad 2017 Awards Application Checklist Cover Page and a Grad 2017 Awards Application. These forms, as well as forms for General Proficiency ApplicationRoyal Canadian Legion Verification, and The Sisters of Our Ladies of the Cross Scholarship Application, are available at http://bit.ly/SMHSGradAwards An awards package containing the description of the awards is available at the main office. The checklist cover page, awards application, and other required documents must be submitted to the main office by Friday, May 19th at 3:30 p.m.

KINSMEN CLUB OF PRINCE ALBERT BURSARY ($500)
The Kinsmen Club of Prince Albert will be awarding two bursaries in the amount of $500 each per academic year. The winners of this bursary will be determined by the Kinsmen Club of Prince Albert based on the following criteria: 
* Knowledge of the Kinsmen Club on a local and national level.
* Financial need
* Community involvement
* Academic standing
Submissions must be postmarked no later than May 15th, 2017. For information on award criteria and an application form, see Mrs. Rapin in Student Services.

MONSANTO FUND OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Monsanto Fund Opportunity Scholarship Program is available to Canadian high school students who are enrolled in their final year of high school and eligible to graduate in 2017. Those eligible for a scholarship must be planning to enroll at a Canadian post‑secondary institution (degree or diploma) in a first-year agriculture, food science or culinary program. Successful applicants will each be awarded a scholarship valued at $1,500, based on demonstrated academic standards and leadership in the community. For eligibility, selection criteria, and application forms visit  www.monsanto.ca  Submission deadline is June 15, 2017

NATIONAL UNION OF PUBLIC AND GENERAL EMPLOYEES SCHOLARSHIPS ($1,500)
This scholarship is open to grade 12 students who are planning to attend a postsecondary educational institution full-time in 2017 - 2018 and who are the children, grandchildren or foster children of a NUPGE member. Go to www.nupge.ca/content/12999/national-unions-scholarship-program-2017 for information and application forms. The deadline to apply is July 7th, 2017.

COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
PRINCE ALBERT WRESTLING CLUB 
The practice schedule is Sunday from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Riverside School. See Ms. Richards in Room 128 for information.

WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS
WRESTLING PRACTICE
Practices will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 3:30 pm.  See Ms. Richards in Room 128 if you have any questions.

OPEN SHOP FOR PAA STUDENTS
Students who are currently taking PAA classes that involve construction or drafting are invited to use the shop equipment, under teacher supervision, during lunch hours every Monday - Thursday. Please contact Mr. Thalheimer or Mr. Welter for more information.

ART CLUB

Art Club meets every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m.- 5:00 p.m in the Art Room (B18). Everyone is welcome to attend. Come on out to make some great art! 

GLEE CLUB/CHORAL 
Glee Club rehearsals are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:15 a.m. and Wednesday at 12:25 p.m.

JAZZ BAND

Rehearsals are Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in the band room.

WEDNESDAY SUPPER STUDY

Students are invited to go to the library after school to receive additional teacher support. As well, a supper is served at 5:00 p.m.
