KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS FREE THROW COMPETITION
Any students born in 2002 of later are eligible to compete in a Free Throw Competition.  The boys will compete Tuesday, Jan. 31st at 12:35 p.m. in the small gym.  The girls will compete Thursday, Feb. 2nd at 12:35 p.m. in the small gym.  The competition consists of 15 free throw attempts.  The top 5 students on each day will advance to the District Championship.  Students competing must be wearing indoor shoes.  Please see Mrs. Rissling if you have any questions.

TERRY FOX HUMANITARIAN AWARD

The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award ($28,000 dispersed over four years) is open to students of all abilities who are pursuing a degree or diploma at a Canadian post-secondary institution. Recipients are selected for their dedication to the humanitarian ideals of Terry Fox to improve human welfare, make a difference, and have a positive impact on community and others, their courage in overcoming obstacles (physical, financial, etc.), and definite marks of distinction and persistence in the pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic, and civic life. REGULAR ADMISSION TO U OF S FOR 2017-2018

February 15th, 2017 is the deadline to apply for regular admission. Applicants must submit the online application for admission and application fee, an up-to-date transcript, an official timetable or class schedule listing all classes they will be completing, and proof of English proficiency, if required. Within 2-3 business days after applying for admission, each applicant will receive a Network Services ID (NSID) and password to access PAWS, the web portal of the uSask, where the student can check the status of the applications and also apply for awards. Information about calculation of the admission average, and the required subjects by program is available at the U of S website.

U OF R: COLLEGE OF NURSING
High School students who are interested in applying to the College of Nursing must do so at the Saskatchewan Polytechnic website at http://www.sasknursingdegree.ca/scbscn/apply-now/. The deadline to apply to the College of Nursing is February 15^th, 2017.

WOMEN IN TRADES WORKSHOP 

The Women in Trades Workshops are hands-on, weekend workshops offering an introduction to a variety of basic trades skills. The Carpentry/Welding workshop costs $150 and will be March 18-19, 2017 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. The Electrical/Plumbing Workshop costs $150 and will be April 8-9, 2017 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. SASKTEL SCHOLARSHIPS

Every year, SaskTel helps students pursue career goals by awarding eight scholarships, worth $3000 each, to Saskatchewan students attending post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in, or about to enroll in, full-time studies (minimum 8 months) at a post-secondary education institute in Saskatchewan; be taking a degree, diploma, or certificate program directly related to communications (such as engineering, computer sciences, accounting, business administration etc.); and have achieved a minimum 75% average in the most recent education standing. Students applying to the College of Education must select the Teacher Education Application Profile (TEAP) when starting the online application process. WEEKLY ANNOUNCEMENTS

CURLING INTRAMURALS

Curling intramurals will be held every Tuesday, until Christmas Break, after school at PA Golf & Curling Club from 3:45 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. Students who need a ride for curling are to meet at the glass wall in front of the main gym right after school.

WRESTLING PRACTICE
Practices will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 3:30 pm.  See Ms. Richards in Room 128 if you have any questions.

OPEN SHOP FOR PAA STUDENTS

Students who are currently taking PAA classes that involve construction or drafting are invited to use the shop equipment, under teacher supervision, during lunch hours every Monday - Thursday. Please contact Mr. Thalheimer or Mr. Welter for more information.

ART CLUB
Art Club meets every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m.- 5:00 p.m in the Art Room (B18). Everyone is welcome to attend. Come on out to make some great art!
