Scorekeepers are needed for provincial basketball on Saturday, May 27th and Sunday, May 28th. The pay is $12 per game. If you are interested, please contact Miss Packet as soon as possible.

ROTARY CITIZENSHIP AWARD
Grade 11 students are encouraged to apply for the Rotary Citizenship Award to be presented at the June Awards Assembly. This $250 award is presented to a Grade 11 student who is involved in the school, community, church etc. The application form, available on the Student tab of the Pursueonline career website, must be submitted to the main office by Monday, May 16th at 3:30 p.m. The student’s academic transcript and attendance record will also be given to the awards selection committee.

MOST GENTLEMANLY/DEPORTMENT AWARDS
Nomination forms are now available on the Pursueonline website. These forms must be completed and returned to the main office by Friday, May 20th at 3:30 p.m

SMHS GRAD AWARDS
Students who are interested in applying for awards that will be presented at Grad 2016 must submit a Grad 2016 Awards Application Checklist Cover Page and Grad 2016 Awards Application. These forms, as well the Royal Legion Verification Form and The Sisters of Our Ladies of the Cross Scholarship Application, are available at the Credits and Awards page of the career website. An awards package containing a description of the awards is available at the main office. The checklist cover page, awards application, and other required documents must be submitted to the main office by Friday, May 20th at 3:30 p.m.

ELWOOD HARVEY COOPERATIVE LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIP - GR. 11

Two $2500 scholarships will be awarded in each of the 12 geographic districts. To be eligible to apply, students must be a member of Affinity Credit Union, or a dependent of a member. The deadline to apply is May 15th, 2016. For more information about the criteria and application process, go to www.affinitycu.ca

U of S REGISTRATION WORKSHOP
The annual U-Start registration workshops for new U of S students will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 (2 pm – 5 pm) and Thursday, June 2, 2016 (6 pm - 8pm) at St. Mary High School. The workshops will give new students an introduction to the tools and information they need to prepare for university. Topics will cover:
  • ​How to choose and register for classes
  • How to use online tools like PAWS and course/program catalogue
  • How to pay tuition, find a place to live, and buy textbooks
Students who have been admitted to the U of S are encouraged to sign up online for the workshop or a webinar that works best for them! For more information, and to sign up, students can visit students.usask.ca/ustart ​If you have any questions, please contact a guidance counsellor in Student Services.

APPLICATIONS FOR SLC 2016-17 
Students in Grade 9, 10, & 11 who are interested in becoming a part of the 2016-17 SLC are encouraged to apply (Co-President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Faith Development Committee Chair, Athletics Committee Chair, Special Events Committee Chair, Fundraising Chair). Application forms are at the main office.  The deadline for students to submit application forms to the main office is Wednesday, May 18th. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Thurber or Mrs. Meckelborg.

JOB OPPORTUNITY 
Prince Albert National Park is looking for four (4) students to assist the Asset Management Team for the 2016 summer season. These positions provide hands-on learning opportunities that support Parks Canada's maintenance programs. As a member of the team, you will support the goal to enhance the visitor experience and engage Canadians and other visitors in the learning, enjoyment, connection to, and appreciation of Canada's natural and cultural heritage. Students should email applications to: lance.langford@pc.gc.ca with Subject: “Asset Management Student Position Applications”. Students must include a cover letter, resume and 2 references with contact information. Please indicate which position is of interest. Resumes received on or before May 25, 2016 will be considered.

JUMPSTART APPLICATIONS 
Anyone in need of financial aid in regard to joining organized sport for the spring or the summer may get an application from the office.  The application deadline is June 10, 2016.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR CANTEEN AT THE MUSICAL  
Volunteers are needed to assist with the canteen Wednesday, May 11 - Saturday, May 14.  All shifts are 7 p.m. -10 p.m. Please see Mrs. Bernier in Room 206, if you are able to help.  You may use these hours for Christian Ethics and you get to watch the musical for free!

SMHS MAJOR AND MINOR ATHLETIC LETTERS
Grade 12 students who have participated in sports over the past years are invited to apply for an athletic letter that will be presented during the June Awards Celebration. Application forms are available on the Student tab of the Pursueonline career website and must be submitted to the office by Friday, May 13th. 

TRACK 'N' FIELD DISCUS PRACTICES
Discus Throws practices will be Tuesdays at 6 p.m. (Harry Jerome Track)Wednesdays at 7:47 a.m. (soccer field) and Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. (soccer field).

GRADE 12 GRAD RETREAT
Attention all Grade 12 students! Friday, June 3rd is the Grad Retreat from 9:00 a.m. - 3:25 p.m. Join us at the beautiful Par Place where we will retreat, relax, reconnect with friends both new and old, and reflect in enjoyable and meaningful ways about where we are, what we’ve done, and where we are going.
