FRIENDSHIP GARDEN: TULIP BULB PLANTING CEREMONY
On Thursday, October 22nd at 11:30 a.m., students and Royal Canadian Legion members will plant 700 red and white tulip bulbs as a symbolic link to a Friendship Tulip Garden in Ottawa. The planting celebrates the 70th anniversary of the first gift of 100,000 Dutch tulip bulbs sent to Canadians in 1945 as a symbol of appreciation for the role Canadian soldiers played in the liberation of the Netherlands and the hospitality Canada provided to the Dutch Royal Family in Ottawa during WWII. Teachers who are interested in having their students also participate should contact Mr. Ogrodnick.
COATS FOR KIDS
The Prince Albert Knights of Columbus along with the R.C.M.P. will be working together collecting gently used (or new) coats, ski pants, toques/hats, mitts, scarves, etc. for children ages 2-12 years of age living in Saskatchewan northern communities. Donations can be brought to any Catholic Church in Prince Albert or to St. Mary High School until the middle of November. Cash $$ donations will be accepted as well to be used in purchasing outer-wear for a greater number of children. Mr. Corcoran in room 227 will collect any donations from our School Community.

Saskatchewan Library Week: Book Spine Poetry Contest
Book spine poetry is a free verse poem that is composed by using the titles written on the spines of books and stacking the books on top of each other. Come into the library, create a poem with books, take a photo of the books and submit your entry!

This five-day program, held in Regina from November 25th to November 29th targets high school students in Grades 11 or Grade 12 who are interested in agriculture. It is designed to help broaden the knowledge and understanding of the multi-faceted agriculture sector, environmental issues and the challenge of providing food for the world. CAREER FAIR: OPENING DOORS TO TOMORROW
This year’s fair will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Prince Albert Exhibition Grounds. The career fair serves students of three school divisions from Grade 9-Grade 12, as well as the general public. The goal of the fair is to assist young adults with the intentional creation of their career plans and the transition into post-secondary opportunities. There will be over 65 booths with displayers from Western Canada. The booths offer both post-secondary educational and employment opportunities for attendees and is sponsored by Saskatchewan Rivers School Division, Prince Albert Catholic Schools, Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Prince Albert Parkland Health Region and Prince Albert and District Community Futures.
