MORNING PRAYER
In today’s Gospel (Luke 9:7-9), we remember Sts. Cosmas and Damian who were persecuted for their faith. The twin brothers and physicians are the patron saints for surgeons, physicians and dentists.

Dear Lord, sometimes life can pose some dangers that we must avoid. Please keep us safe from harm, and protect all who are in danger Amen.

There will be a SLC meeting at 12:30 p.m. TODAY in the Conference Room.

PICTURE PROOFS ARE IN!!
If you are ordering pictures your form and money must be in by September 30th. After that date, you will be charged a late fee.  Homeroom teachers have your proofs. You pay your homeroom teacher when you place your order.  Students without a home room may pick up their proofs at the office.

SR. BOYS FOOTBALL GAME
Come out and show your marauder pride on Friday, September 27th! Get your face painted blue and white before the football game by the finish line building at Prime Ministers' Park. Donations will be accepted to pay for the make-up.

ART CLUB
members must sign up by 3:30 p.m. TODAY to paint faces for Ms. Charlebois-Rinas.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
A workshop will be held at the Mann Art Gallery on Friday, September 27th with Sean Woodruff Whaley. Learn how to stitch digital photographs together. Pre-registration is required. See Ms. Charlebois-Rinas for information and details.

CULTURAL CAMP
There will be a Cultural Camp on October 17th - 19th. Please see Ms Bear for more information or to sign up.

JIGGING AND SQUARE DANCING

TERRY FOX FOUNDATION: PULLING FOR A CURE
On Thursday, September 26th, a 72-passenger bus (13,048 kg) will be situated outside the school at 12:50 p.m. Teams will take turns pulling the bus “uphill” for 25 metres, and the time will be recorded. The 2013 Teams (15 male and 15 female) are as follows:
Team Volleyball/Golf (Quintal/Packet)
Team Drama/Music (Van Otterloo/Skomorowski)
Team Soccer/SLC (Gareau/McLeod)
Team Cross Country/Track (Town/Prins)
Team Staff (Pearson)
How Can You Be Part of the Cure?
- Donate money in the classroom. 
- Get a pledge sheet from the library and canvas friends and family for donations.   (This activity counts as 2 hrs community service.) 
- Join a team to help pull the bus. Sign up with a team Teacher Captain.
- Cheer on the teams while they are “Pulling for a Cure”.

CHESS CLUB

Are you interested in playing board games? Chess Club is starting on Tuesday, September 24th at 12:30 p.m. in Rm B27. It is open to all ages and skill levels. We also play more than chess. Come check it out! It is every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:30 p.m.

ICE CREAM SALE FOR CANCER
This week students will be selling ice cream during the 8 minute break in the morning and during lunch in the Commons to raise money for the Saskatoon Children’s Cancer Unit.  All profits will be used to purchase items to directly help the kids and families in our area with cancer.


LORAN AWARD
The Loran Award seeks to recognize students that demonstrate character, leadership and commitment and service to the community. Up to 30 Loran Awards are available at up to $80,000.The application deadline is October 16th, 2013. Please see Mrs. McLeod in Student Services for more information or go to www.loranscholar.ca

U of S OPEN HOUSE
The U of S Open House is an annual event for prospective students and will be taking place on October 4, 2013. Prospective students are invited to spend time on campus to experience the U of S in full swing. Through interactive information sessions, tours and other activities,students can learn more about the wide variety of programs and services available at the U of S. St. Mary students may travel by bus but must sign up in Student Services with Mrs. McLeod or Mrs. Rapin by Monday, September 30th. The cost is $10.00. Students must register themselves online. Sessions fill up quickly and students are scheduled on a first come, first served basis. LEVEL ONE VOLLEYBALL REFEREE CLINIC
