In today’s Gospel (Luke 6:6-11), we see Jesus defying the Sabbath law for more noble reasons.

Jesus, our Savior, you angered leaders when you revealed how laws cause more harm when they are abused.  Your commandments of love are most important. Lead us to do good and to cherish the dignity of all life. Amen.
