DAY 2
MORNING PRAYER
Today is Holy
Thursday, or the day the Catholic Church Commemorates the Last Supper. It is
also called Maundy Thursday in certain parts of the world. The term “Maundy”
means "washing of the feet". There are many important things about this day,
such as: Jesus washing each of his disciples’ feet, Jesus making predictions that
would come true in the future, and Jesus giving up his Body and Blood for us in
the creation of Holy Communion.
My Lord,
We thank You this
day,
for Your presence
with us here on Earth, then and now.
We thank You for
the many ways You showed us
how worthy You are
to follow,
even though we do
not deserve You.
You taught us that
even though You are the Son of God,
a helpful person
serves those around them.
You gave up your
Body and Blood for us on this day
and through You,
we are saved.
Surely, there is
no greater love than Yours.
Thank you.
Through Christ our Lord,
Amen
