DAY 2
MORNING PRAYER
On Sunday, we will
remember the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem. On this day the people
greeted him with the word “hosanna” which means save us. They put down
palm leaves to make it seem like the king was entering Jerusalem. Yes, Jesus
came to save the people, but not the way the people of Jerusalem thought. The
Jewish people thought Jesus was going to be a military leader to rid them of
oppression. Rather, Jesus’ sacrifice saved all of humanity from the
consequences of sin. This Sunday, called Palm Sunday, we will
remember this entrance into Jerusalem as he made his way closer to his death
and resurrection.
Lord,
This Lent we tried
to give more, fast, and to pray more.
As we come close
to Holy week and Palm Sunday,
let us remember
the sacrifice of Jesus was meant for all people in all times.
We are thankful
that Jesus loved us so much.
Help us to take
time to remember
these amazing
events in the life of Jesus.
Through Christ our
Lord,
Amen
